JOB PURPOSE
1. Translate functional and feature requirements from Product Management and Research & Development into documented and approved Quality Assurance Test Plans, Cases and Steps specification.
2. To develop suites of regression test for specified software with an agreed timeframe and by following the documented business processes.
3. To execute test procedures against official software releases with an agreed timeframe and be able to present both verbally and written the results.

To be able to keep up with new testing techniques and continually strive to find better ways to achieve the scheduled tasks in agreed timeframes.
JOB OBJECTIVES, MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY AND KEY TASKS
The following represents the main job objectives, main areas of responsibilities and key tasks:
1. Translate Functional and feature requirements from Product Management and Research & Development into documented and approved Quality Assurance Test Plans, Cases and Steps specification.
2. Creation and maintenance of Test data
3. Automation and maintenance of test processes and scripts.
4. Assist in the definition of the testing procedures, tools and produce accompanying documentation.
5. Work with program/project management on to define estimates of effort, project dependencies, risks and issues.
6. Maintain and configure Quality Assurance environments for the execution of a Test Plan.
7. Execute Test Plans, Cases and Steps against core product or customised customer project releases from R&D or Customer Development Engineering.
8. Capture, record and update defect information in the defect management system.
9. Liaise with Research and Development or Customer Development Engineering on efficient defect resolution.
10. Create and communicate Quality Assurance reports and statistics for the R&D Team.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
The following represents the required work experience and qualifications:
1. Working experience and proven exposure with at least 4 years in Quality Assurance and Testing Environments, especially in the areas of testing web-based and or client-server applications.

It is essential that the Applicants have the following technical skill sets and experience:
  • Oracle Administration for 8i, 9i and 10g Databases
  • Oracle SQL and PLSQL
  • System Administration for Solaris/Unix
  • System Administration for Linux
  • Shell Scripting i.e. Perl and Korn
  • Mail Store Technologies
  • Networking, Switching, Routers, Protocols i.e. TCP/IP, Multicast, Unicast, RTSP, TFTP, IGMP
  • Network sniffers
OTHER
The following detail some of the soft skill competencies required;
1. Good communication skills, both written and verbal (this could be specific by project, English is mandatory, but individuals with French, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese would be useful)
2. Demonstrate good analytical and problem solving skills
3. Good team working skills, confident, self motivated, self disciplined and able to prioritise, escalate when required
4. Demonstrate capability to adapt to change and varying priorities
5. Ability to lean, understand and present on in-depth technical subject, both written and verbal
6. Willingness to travel if required by the business
